MWM Brown Girl Beauty Showcase 2017
Hosted by Official MWM-UM Ohio Committee taking place in Cleveland Ohio.
ABOUT THE BROWN GIRL BEAUTY SHOWCASE
The 2017 Brown Girl Beauty Showcase is pageant-style event to celebrate and crown beautiful brown girls of African descent. Our goal is to celebrate the culture and creativity of little brown girls, while building both their confidence and self-esteem. The showcase will be hosted from August 4-6 with a weekend of events.
Presented by the original Million Woman March (MWM) and the official Million Woman March-Universal Movement (MWM-UM) Ohio Committee, this is not your traditional beauty pageant and is open to girls of all shapes and sizes, no modeling experience is required and – although we will be crowning overall winners – every contestant wins a prize! The showcase is open to all who identify as being ethnically part of the African diaspora or of African descent (Black or mixed-race Black, Afro-Latino, Afro-Caribbean, etc.).
The money raised for this event will be used to cover the cost of the event including prize offerings. The proceeds will be used to assist in paying for participant transportation and expenses to attend the 20th anniversary commemoration of the Million Woman March in October 2017 and various other MWM-related programs.
